I was at the local PetSmart today buying some bird seed and litter when I realized that I hadn't gotten Oscar and Felix a new toy in a while: As you can see, the choices are almost overwhelming. This was just one 4ft section of the "Cat Toys" aisle. It's truly amazing how many playthings are created and marketed to us cat owners.
After staring at this for a while I ended up not buying anything because I realized, at the end of the day, cats are pretty much permanent 2-year olds. That means that they'll have more fun with the box that the toy came in than with the toy itself.
I went home and tossed a wad of newspaper at Oscar and Felix and sure enough, they kept themselves busy batting it around for quite a while.
Wohoo!, more money for beer ;-)
