Project 365 Day 9-A Healthy Breakfast

Mother always said to eat a healthy breakfast. Here's mine to start off the workweek: Day 9-A Healthy Breakfast

I always try to eat a fairly significant breakfast to start off the day. Today's version was pretty typical:

1. A banana/strawberry smoothie consisting of

  • 1.5 Cups full-fat milk
  • a couple tablespoons heavy cream
  • 1 scoop whey protein powder
  • 1/2 banana
  • 2 large strawberries
2. A couple slices of frittata that I made over the weekend:
  • 2-3 large eggs
  • some bacon
  • mushrooms
  • tomatoes
  • onions
  • shredded jack cheese
Overall it adds up to around 700 calories in the following proportions
  • 50% fat
  • 35% protein
  • 15% carbs
A meal like this will keep me going for a good 4 to 6 hours, without suffering from a mid-morning sugar crash.
